2007 Tent Decorating Award
Tonight, at the Relay Wrap-up meeting, our team was honored with the award for "Most Creative Tent Site".
Bon-Ton Community Day (benefits Relay)
Bon-Ton's Community Day will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007. You have the opportunity to sell coupon booklets for $5 and 100% of the $5 goes to the Relay. The books contain coupons valid on regular and sale price merchandise during the One-Day Community Day Sale.
With each $5 coupon book, customers receive the following:
Coupons can be picked up in the store or by contacting the Store Manager or the Community Day Event Coordinator.
With each $5 coupon book, customers receive the following:
- $10 coupon, good on an item of $10 or more
- 8 additional coupons, each good for up to 20% off just about merchandise purchase

"Share the Spirit" Charity Shopping Night
The Uniontown Mall is offering a "Share the Spirit" charity shopping night to benefit the Relay for Life. This will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 6pm to 9pm. The event will allow participants to shop after regular business hours. Tickets will be $5 and the money will be credited to your Relay for Life team. The following will be provided at the event.

- chances to win prizes including a $1,000 Mall Gift Card
- holiday entertainment
- free refreshments
- children's activities including a visit from Mrs. Claus and rides on the Holiday Train
2008 Relay Theme
The theme for the 2008 Relay for Life will be "nursery rhymes". If you have any ideas, feel free to post them as comments to this entry.

Committee Wrap-Up Update
I figured the rest of you would like to know what we discussed at the committee wrap-up this year.
We decided that we would keep the relay in the upper parking lot again next year. We all felt that it created a stronger feeling of community. We believed that everyone was more involved since we were closer together.
We voted to change the relay times to 6pm - 6pm instead of 4pm - to 4pm. We decided to do this because we want more people to be involved Sunday. Set up will be from 4-6 on Saturday. The opening ceremony will be at 6pm. And, the survivor lap and ceremony will be at 1pm on Sunday.
We came up with possible themes that will be voted on at the relay wrap-up. For more information, see my previous post.
We decided that the display of the HOPE luminaria will need to be changed in 2008 since many people said they could not see it.
Finally, we discussed what we would do if you could not get the survivor and auction tents donated next year. We discussed the possibility of selling a monthly raffle ticket.

I know many of you are wondering what the Relay's theme will be for the 2007-2008 relay. We will be voting at the Relay Wrap-up Meeting on Tuesday. The possible themes are sports, nursery rhymes, fantasy island, or birthday parties.
